The unit not only works incredibly well as an on camera flash, it has the features and power that give any photographer access to multiple flash setups, variable lighting ratios, stroboscopic flash, and scalability over time at an affordable price.The key to getting the most out of this flash unit, or a system of these flashes, lies in learning how to properly use and control them. This was something that photographers just a few years ago had to do because automated technology and systems didn’t exist. Photographers actually had to learn how to set the settings to get the results they wanted. This is also true of the Godox TT600 as part of a flash system.Using a single flash, along with one of the Godox on-camera controllers, it’s possible to create an amazing variety of single light setups. Adding a second and third flash, you now have the ability to create complex multiple light setups used by advanced studio and portrait photographers. Need more powerful light? Group multiple flash units on the same channel and set them off at full power to triple the light output. Or reduce the power of each unit and take advantage of the quicker recycle time to have more light at a quicker rate. The unit is even capable, with certain cameras models, of achieving High Speed Sync at rates up to 1/8000th of a second opening up even greater creative optionsAdd light modifiers like umbrellas, soft-boxes, and reflectors to expand the capability even more. Literally, for the price of a single studio flash unit, you can purchase 7-10 Godox TT600 units that are capable of doing everything and more than the studio unit.There are some downsides of course. The TT600 is not TTL compatible and so does not work with the cameras meter and computers to adjust the light automatically.The unit does not have a rechargeable battery pack so you will go through AA batteries, or spend a fair amount of time recharging batteries if you decide to go that route.The flash is also not capable of High Speed Sync when actually mounted to a camera (but this seems to be true even of the manufacturer brand units)All in all, this is possibly the best dollar for dollar value in flash/speedlight product available today.

Customer Review: While the TT685 is a TTL flash, the TT600 is all manual, making the display and functions much simpler. If you don’t need TTL, I think that’s a really good thing- the layout of the screen and menu is far easier to understand (the menu still takes a little effort to figure out because of the over simplicity of the abbreviations but it’s much better). The TT600 also still features the Multi mode for creative affects and it functions identically with the TT685. If you want to use it, just memorize the formula to figure out your shutter speed and other settings and you’re good to go. As an all manual flash, it also doesn’t feature an auto zoom feature to automatically match your focal length.The build quality is very satisfactory for a 3rd party flash at this price. The design is nearly identical to the TT685- a typical button and wheel layout on the back and twisting lock on the hot shoe. The head has full 360 rotation and from 90 to -7 degree vertical tilt. It can zoom from 24-200mm and 14mm with the wide panel. As I said with the TT685, a slightly more substantial rubber grip on the sides of the head or locking into position at some points would be nice but far from necessary. Most modifiers that attach solely to the flash head won’t be heavy enough to cause any problems with this, or they will attach in the lowest position anyway so the weight doesn’t matter.Up to about 1/4 power, the recycle time is near nonexistent, the same as the TT685. At half power and full power it is a bit slower to recycle compared to the TT685, but by no means too slow.It has a built in radio system making it compatible with the X1 transceiver and fitting in nicely with other Godox products.One of my favorite small features, the S1 and S2 optical trigger modes, are still available as well, allowing it to be used with any other flash or strobe even without a trigger. These settings need to be accessed through the menu unlike the TT685 where they can be turned on with the push of a button, but they are still there. The simpler menu makes this less of an issue as well.In terms of power output, it seems to have only slightly less power than the TT685, between 1/3 and 2/3 of a stop less in my tests.All in all, this is a very nice and affordable manual flash. In my experience this series of flashes is also very reliable. Unless you need TTL, I’d highly recommend this! The lack of TTL actually makes it compatible with multiple brands as well, so unlike the TT685 you can use one flash for Nikon or Canon etc. Enjoy!

Customer Review: I recently bought a Canon R7 mirrorless digital camera, but it doesn’t come with a built-in flash. I saw that this Altura Speedlite was compatible with my model, so I bought it and it works great! I just leave it on auto and my flash photos come out with great exposure and no over-exposed areas. It is not too heavy and is comfortable to hold and shoot. I haven’t tried any of the more complicated settings yet, but I am happy with my purchase.

Customer Review: It is a nice flash when it works. I have found that it completely drains batteries. I go through a set of double AA batteries every time I use my camera. Typically out on a hike for an hour or two and I only turn it on when I am ready to take photos. It also turns off in the middle of shooting and is slow to pair with my camera in the middle of shooting. Not ideal.

Customer Review: Ok, first things first. I don’t own an original Canon Speedlite, so my review will not be a comparison with Canon Speedlites. The most expensive speedlite I have (before I ordered this one) was $120 from Amazon (not gonna name the brand here). I was looking for a decent speedlite in the $150-$200 price range as I needed something that I can use both on camera and off camera. I have several other Godox lighting equipment (AD200s, 400 strobe, etc) so it made sense to get this one since it fits nicely with the whole eco system. I had mediocre expectation when I ordered it, and boy was I wrong! This light is WOW! It has everything you need and more:1. Use as a hot shoe flash: of course2. Great build quality: Yes3. Quick lock feature on the hot shoe: Yes4. HSS and second curtain sync: Yes and the HSS goes up to 1/8000s. What!? For a $200 flash thats wicked impressive!5. Easy switch between multi mode, ETTL, and manual: Yes6. Use as a remote flash with Rx compatible with x1c trigger: done7. Use as a Tx for my other Godox lights: Heck yes! I was so happy it can do this.8. Zoomable: Yes!To me, the color temperature seemed pretty accurate, so there’s that. To be completely fair, I’m not a huge fan of the UI, but I use other Godox systems and it was not too hard to figure out how to do everything I need without looking at the manual at all. I’m sure there are a lot of niche features I may not be utilizing, but in due time I guess. Honestly, I didn’t need anything else in this flash. But there are some other cool stuff that I have to mention. It has a dedicated switch to toggle between ETTL and Manual. I didn’t think I needed this, but I’m using it all the time now. I did a quick comparison with the Manual and ETTL mode and I almost love it. ETTL may be (emphasis on the may be) a tad bit underexposed (one stop) than what I’d prefer – but I believe it’s purely preference. This is nothing a little adjustment on photoshop or lightroom can’t fix. Oh, and there is a modeling light! A modeling light on a speedlite at this price point. How do they do it!? And it comes with a Li ion battery (thank god! no more AAs) with a USB C charger.I got way more than I expected in this speedlite. If you’re thinking about getting a speedlite, get this one. If you have a Godox system, definitely get this one! And the delivery was super fast as well. I ordered Friday and it got delivered on Sunday. I almost feel bad how fast it was delivered, lol. But who’s complaining!?

Customer Review: This flash is definitely expensive but turned out to be an amazing all-around work-horse flash. I am team sony and it was important I upgrade and get a flash that can read the settings on my camera.This flash does. It is made of plastic and feels a bit cheap but what’s inside it makes the flash worth it. I love the fact it has a battery and can act as a transmitter and receiver.Also, I am a magmod user and bought a few diffusers from that company to put on top of the flash. The flash becomes loose under the weight of the diffuser. Be aware of that (see pics attached).Overall, this is an amazing flash and is a match for it’s price. I am really happy I upgraded and already put it through intensive tests which the flash passed with flying colors.

Those got the job done but once I upgraded to the sony A1 camera with electronic shutter I needed an updated flash. Those cheap flashes would only work with a mechanical shutter and not with the electronic one.At first V860II caught my attention but then I noticed the new version came out. I bought this flash because newer is always better, right? LOLAnywho, I already used this flash at 5 photoshoots and couldn’t be happier. Customer Review: I recently received the flash and am very pleased so far. (I’m mostly using it for macro photography using a sync cable and remote shutter release.) It is simple to use and I like the manual selection of output power. The flash head rotates up & down and left & right which makes it great for tabletop work. Recycle time is fast. My only negative is the battery compartment cover seems to be a little bit fragile and may be easily damaged when trying to close it after inserting batteries – so be careful with that. Hopefully the unit will pass the test of time.
