Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’m very happy with this 7-inch wireless CarPlay display. Installation was straightforward, and the mount feels solid and secure even while riding. The screen is bright and easy to see in direct sunlight, and the touchscreen is responsive, even with gloves on.Wireless CarPlay connects quickly and reliably every time. Navigation, music, and calls work smoothly, and voice control is very convenient and much safer while riding. The waterproof design also works great—I’ve ridden in the rain with no issues at all.For the price, this unit offers excellent performance and quality. If you’re looking for an affordable, reliable motorcycle CarPlay screen, this one is definitely worth buying.”

Customer Review: “Honestly, you can’t really beat this for the money. I was looking for a much cheaper GPS alternative (there is no GPS in this, but your phone can be used as one and send data via an app to screen) and this fit the ticket and then some. Installation was a breeze, phone binding and software setup was just as easy. Screen is bright and clear, touch is responsive and very usable. As for the cons, it does take up to a minute or so after power on to boot and connect to your phone, once it connects though it is rock solid (even connected to my phone which was two rooms away while i was in garage). The mount(s) and the ball you use to mount the screen are made of plastic, albeit decently thick plastic, so be mindful of that if your main application is offroad use.Lastly, their customer support is quite honestly amazing. Had some questions about the device and had them answered almost immediately, can’t say enough good things really. Well worth the money if you’re needing a third party nav device for your moto, but don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Works well on my CamAm Spyder RTL. Great having access to Apple Car Play and nice being able to actually see the map while following directions. Cameras work nicely and great to know my survivors will have proof of wrong doing on the other guy in court. For the price they pack a lot into the unit. Do wish it would accept the tire pressure sensors on my wheels, sure it comes with two which I put on the front wheel and I monitor my rear with the app for that sensor on my phone.”

Customer Review: “I installed this on my 2008 Harley Davidson Road Glide. It’s awesome. The video quality is better than I expected. We have lane splitting now in Minnesota so I really wanted to cover my backside. To be clear, I created my own custom mount for the head unit. I left my stock head unit in, have the unit bluetoothed to my phone, then have my phone use a charge/audio out cable splitter that is then connected to the head unit via audio jack. I then created a bracket that bolts to the stock Harley head unit over the face of the head unit out of 16 gauge steel. Then 3d printed a custom mount that has magnets that I glued into it to secure the head unit to the bracket. This is the same as the mounting bracket that comes with this unit. I used stronger magnets to be safe since it’s on a motorcycle and don’t need it flying off at interstate speeds! I also ran the power cable inside my fairing and tapped into the power supply for my radio that only turns on when the “key” is turned on. This way it doesn’t drain my battery accidentally. Now not everyone will have the access/capabilities to create the bracket and 3d printed file, but it was worth the extra effort.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I already have one smaller CarPlay unit and decided to pick up another for my second bike. While I thought I would use these only for navigation, I find it also makes communication and controlling music easier as well. I always found voice and intercom controls a bit clunky, so I rarely bothered with calls or music. With the large display, quickly glancing to screen calls or start, stop, skip or change a playlist is a breeze. No more pulling over to pull my phone out, everything I need is right there and accessible with a few quick taps. Android Auto always connects seamlessly after the quick bootup. Google Maps, Spotify, Phone and Messages apps are intuitive and work perfectly. The screen is large, bright and responsive even with gloves. A small touch I really love is the brightness toggle switches between bright, dim and off. Being able to turn off the display is great when I don’t want or need the display. Other units I’ve had just don’t have an easy way of turning the screen or even the whole unit off. Big plus for me for such a simple thing. The mount is easy to install and allows a lot of flexibility in positioning the display. In my case, I have it mounted near the clutch lever and tilted up and right a bit to keep in inline with the bike’s gauge cluster. If you already have a RAM style mount, you should be able reuse it and pop this on easily. Otherwise, the included metal mount is sturdy and very stable. Wiring is a breeze with only a ground and 12v line that need to be connected. Just be sure to use a 12v line that only turns on with the key. I chose to use the tail light with a Y-splitter to avoid cutting anything.”

Customer Review: “This is an amazing monitor for CarPlay . I travel by scooter and it works perfectly . I use it with a usb c and battery but you can hard wire itThe gui is amazing it’s fast no lag and the screen is plenty bright , perfect for those sunny days . Well done Lamtto. Pairing with my iPhone was super simple and very very quick . Can’t wait to use it more and more . It’s amazing buy one .”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I installed the product on my 2018 Harley-Davidson Road King. I mounted it on the handlebars, and the position is great, also the screen size is great. There are several features I’d like to highlight. The dashcam works amazingly well, and the video quality is excellent. The touchscreen is very responsive and works perfectly. The tire pressure sensor is a little difficult to install (moderate difficulty), but once installed, it works very well. However, I do have a few concerns. The mount ” bar” is too short — I am still looking for a longer one. The screen shakes due to bike vibrations, so I’m currently trying to find a solution for that. There are also too many cables. I understand they are necessary, but it would be great to have shorter cable options available. I had to use some creative “MacGyver-style” solutions to hide the cables, but I managed to make it work. The connectivity with the phone is wireless/bluetooth and works fine, easy to setup.Overall, I recommend it. It’s a very nice product.”

Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. FAST boot up. Smooth scrolling and smooth seamless transitions between screens. I had a problem with the tire pressure sensors where they began to read 117.5 psi. I reached out to customer service and they were quick to respond and very helpful. They immediately shipped me a new set of sensors that seem to be working well. The installation was pretty self-explanatory and simple. The 4K camera clarity is surprisingly good. I’m able to read license plate numbers while moving on the video playback. All in all I would rate this in 9.5 out of 10.The best upgrade to my bike so far!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I bought the WonVon 7 inch Motorcycle CarPlay back in December, and I wanted to wait a couple of months before submitting my review. I’m happy to report that it’s been working Great! I just returned on a ride home from a motorcycle campout in the freezing rain on my KLR650, and my WonVon worked flawlessly. it’s nice and it feels safe to keep my iPhone secure in my jacket pocket, while still using Google maps to navigate on the WonVon CarPlay. The touchscreen works great with my motorcycle gloves. I do not have any audio hooked up to it, I feel I can stop if I get a phone call or need to read a text message. I don’t recall any problems with the installation. I already had a live wire hooked up to the ignition, powering my Garmin GPS. I just sliced the WonVon power into that wire and it seems to be working fine. I do enjoy having two different GPS units running at the same time. I’ve heard some people do this and have one with an overview map pointing north at the top, and the other one pointing out the route, turn by turn. But I have not tried that yet. I played around with the location of my WonVon on the handlebars, and I came up with the set up shown in the photographs. I like to still have my mobile phone on the handlebars at times, so I fit my RAM phone mount in there, too. It would be nice to have all the electronics mounted in a stack, like they do with the rally motorcycles. I’ll have to work on that! So overall, I am very happy and a big supporter !!”

Customer Review: “Works great I’ve only used Apple CarPlay on it, but I’ve never had an issue with it”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Motorcycle Navigation

Essential Factors We Consider

Choosing the best motorcycle navigation system requires careful thought. You need a device that can withstand the elements and provide clear directions without distracting you. We look at several key factors. First, the screen size and visibility are critical; it must be bright enough to see in direct sunlight and have an anti-glare finish. A responsive, glove-friendly touchscreen is also non-negotiable for safe operation. Waterproofing is another major concern, with ratings like IP67 or IP69K indicating how well a device can handle rain and dust. Furthermore, modern navigation units often feature seamless wireless connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to use your smartphone’s apps directly on the motorcycle display. Finally, consider additional features such as integrated dash cams, TPMS for tire pressure monitoring, or the ability to connect with your motorcycle Bluetooth headsets for audio directions and communication. These elements combine to create a truly effective and safe navigation experience.

Budget Planning

When budgeting for your motorcycle navigation, remember that prices can vary widely based on features and brand. Entry-level models, often around the $150-$250 mark, usually offer basic smartphone mirroring with good waterproofing and a clear screen. These are excellent for riders seeking essential navigation and media access. Mid-range options, typically $250-$400, start to introduce larger screens, more advanced connectivity, and sometimes additional safety features like basic dash cam functionality or TPMS support. Premium devices, which can exceed $400, often include a full suite of features: dual dash cams, advanced safety alerts (like BSD), higher resolution displays, and robust, integrated mounting solutions. Consider your primary needs and riding style to determine the best value for your investment. Sometimes, spending a little more upfront for enhanced safety or convenience pays off significantly in the long run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is a dedicated motorcycle navigation different from using my phone?

A: Dedicated motorcycle navigation units are built specifically for the demands of riding. They are usually more durable, highly waterproof (often IP67 or IP69K rated), and have brighter, anti-glare screens visible in direct sunlight. They also feature glove-friendly touchscreens and are designed to withstand vibrations. While your phone can work, it’s not built for these harsh conditions, and prolonged exposure can damage it.

Q: What is Apple CarPlay/Android Auto for motorcycles?

A: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for motorcycles are systems that mirror your smartphone’s compatible apps—such as navigation (Google Maps, Waze), music (Spotify), and communication tools—onto a motorcycle-mounted display. They are optimized for safe, simplified interaction while riding, often with large icons and voice control, allowing you to keep your phone safely tucked away.

Q: Do these devices work with my motorcycle Bluetooth headset?

A: Yes, most modern motorcycle navigation systems, especially those offering CarPlay or Android Auto, are designed to seamlessly connect to your motorcycle Bluetooth headsets. This allows you to receive turn-by-turn directions, make calls, and listen to music directly through your helmet speakers, enhancing safety and convenience by keeping your hands on the handlebars.

Q: Are these devices truly waterproof?

A: Many high-quality motorcycle navigation units boast impressive IP ratings, such as IP67 or IP69K. An IP67 rating means the device is dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. An IP69K rating signifies protection against dust and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. This ensures they can endure heavy rain, splashes, and dirt, providing reliable performance in virtually all weather conditions.

Q: Can I install these myself?

A: Most portable motorcycle navigation systems are designed for relatively straightforward DIY installation. This typically involves mounting the unit to your handlebars and connecting a 12V power source to your bike’s electrical system (often to an ignition-switched circuit to prevent battery drain). Units with additional features like dash cams or TPMS might require slightly more complex wiring for sensors and camera placement, but clear instructions are usually provided.

Finding the best motorcycle navigation system is an essential step towards elevating your riding experience. With so many innovative options available, from compact CarPlay screens to all-in-one units with dash cams and TPMS, there’s a perfect device out there for every rider. Whether you prioritize cutting-edge connectivity, rugged durability, or advanced safety features, the right navigation system will empower you to explore new routes with confidence and enjoy every moment on the open road. Don’t let uncertainty hold you back; choose your ideal riding companion today and make every journey an unforgettable one!
