Customer Review: “The VDC/VAC/OHMs is very acurate. The IDC/IAC current as tested by others is also very good. The dispaly is bright and well laid out. The probes are 2nd rate, but work. The lower auto scale only goes down to 5V. You must push the soft key “V” to go to the milivolt scales. Same with VAC. The VAC/IAC True RMS only works for 20Hz to 1KHz accuratly. This is NOT a good audio amplifier analyser. The frequency counter reqires 1 to 2 V to work. The diode voltage appears to be really bad (others tested). Continuity works. The Capaitance measurement is not so great. Get a good LRC meter. Tempertaure, who cares, I have dedicated meters for that. I wanted a data logger. This works. You must first save up 1,000 points on the internal memory. Then use the software to down load and save. Excel doesn’t like the file but it opens. I have Labview and NI VISA loaded on my machine so I don’t know if it will effect you. I pluged in the usb cable and my hadrware manager recoginized it immediantly. Loaded software, set the com port to 6, and it worked first time. Data is not time stamped. If you want to see the faboulous accuracy, try you-tube videos. These people have very expensive equipemnt needed to test a 55,000 count meter. Over all, for me this was an excellent purchase.”

I really felt like a fool when I had to ask the community how to turn it one! So, for any other old timers out there, like a lot of modern electronic devices, the button must be held down for about 3 seconds to power the thing up. One thing that I really liked, that my old Fluke® (far more expensive) meter couldn’t do, is to illuminate an LED, while displaying its forward voltage. I suppose there could be even better options out there, but I’m very satisfied with this unit, as long as it continues to work. Should that change, I’ll post an update.”

(e.g., matching resistors.) That means that effectively it’s really a 5500 count meter, but that hand-held is probably a 199, 320 or 550 count. In other words, the difference is actually more pronounced than it would appear. The lower resolution is fine for most applications.
