Customer Review: “These cameras are great!I have the Eufy indoor camera / baby monitor, but left it at home while traveling. I purchased these as a cheap backup and honestly they work just as well for about 1/3 of the price! Such a great value!These aren’t 4K HD or anything, but for what they are, the quality is pretty good! (I’ve attached pics of day and night so you can see for yourself.) The night vision lets you see pretty clearly even in super dark spaces. I have one in an interior closet with basically zero light, and somehow it still “sees” just fine. The night vision is in black and white rather than color, but I’m pretty sure that’s true of all night vision cameras.The sound quality is also pretty good. It’s far louder than you would expect, so it picks up noise very well.The motion detection feature is also nice. You can change the sensitivity so it doesn’t pick up every little rustle in the room. You can also set it to differentiate between random movement and actual humans. I have one of the Tapo stationary cameras in my cat’s LitterRobot (I know that’s gross, please don’t judge me. My cat had a urinary blockage and almost died so now I have to make sure he uses the box at normal intervals 🫣 ) and this helps differentiate if there’s a cat in the box or it it’s just the robot cycling. I guess that’s not the most glowing review if the camera algorithm mixes up a cat and a human… but for my purposes, I appreciate it.Mountability: I don’t have my cameras mounted, so I can’t tell you how easy it is personally, but I did look into the mounts when I was deciding where I wanted to put them, and they look pretty fool-proof to set up.Overall, it’s so worth it. I’d definitely buy these again.”

Customer Review: “Ive had Wyze cameras for years, they are well made and seem to be dependable. There are some occasional problems but very few. Most of the problems are due to power outages more than the camera. They are easy to set up, the quality of the video is very good with it being 1080 resolution or better. Sound quality is adequate, considering the size of the camera, (about a 2 inch cube)there is just not room for a high quality mic and speaker. Not great quality audio, but adequate. These are super easy to set up using the Wyze app on your phone. You can use the app to view the camera feed and even share it with someone so they can view too. There is an option to pay for cloud storage or you can use a micro sd memory card too. I’ve been pleased with my cameras, switches, and bulbs.”

After experiencing firsthand how easy it was to integrate them into my existing and very average home Wi-Fi system – not to mention tie their control into existing Amazon smart devices such as my Echo Dot and EchoPop – I simply couldn’t resist the urge to (join the rest of you in the 21st century and) purchase a camera.APPLICATION: I wanted an easy to buy, implement, use and maintain a remote controllable and reasonably ‘smart’ surveillance system – just to keep an eye on things that happen on the street. I learned very quickly the Kasa camera system has features that enable it to not only track motion but specifically people when desired (see Activity Zones IMG) ; features include various levels of tracking up to and including “Patrol Mode” which will cause the camera to rotate through the four savable “scenes” at the specified interval(s) allowing for 360° monitoring from just one camera. Even has NIGHT VISION.I actually bought two cameras and haven’t even set up the second one because the first is already doing so much!TIPS & TRICKS: Make sure you purchase a reasonable quality 64 GB mini SD card. That is the maximum size card this model of Kasa camera can utilize. TO INSERT THE CARD: using the mobile interface pan the camera upward until the mini SD card port and reset buttons are exposed (see IMGs.) Insert the card LABEL UP and press until firmly clicked and secured in its final position. I have been running the camera “24/7” (the actual mode is known as “24/7 Monitoring”) at maximum resolution of 1080p for ~ 3 days and have used less than 25% of the 64 GB capacity. (see IMGs)HOW TO SAVE EVIDENCE: Should something unfortunate occur and you find yourself in the position of needing to save that which your camera captured you can simply click on “24/7 recording” & move the saved timeline bar to the requisite point, wait for playback to start and click the 🔴 in the lower right-hand portion on the playback screen. (Note: Give the video recall some time – after all it is the camera having to go back and read saved data while still recording and saving new data, transmit saved data through the Wi-Fi network to your phone and ultimately save it in a new location. Even the fastest systems will take a moment.) Following these steps will save a video of what was recorded that you will find in your video gallery. *There is a portion of the app allocated to Activity Alerts Tracking which is available with a Kasa Care subscription; I do not have that subscription thus I am unable to speak to those features at this time but imagine they facilitate easier activity recall and saving.WHAT TO DO NOW: Click purchase. 😊 Seriously this thing is fabulous especially for the price point. Installation was so easy that I did it myself at the age of 72. The night vision is spectacular to say the least, as is the day time. Due to eye sight issues I need a larger monitor, so I am now using a 32 inch TV as my monitor, no issues with compatibility. Great Value for my money. The tracking is something you’d really think wouldn’t work well or would break, but this is my second camera…I have had my first one for almost 3 years and it still works perfect. All my cams are outdoors rain or shine, and mounted under eaves. The tracking works excellently (and mind you is automatic or can be manually controlled), you don’t need to pay for a monthly plan if you just throw a cheap micro SD card in it (it will let you watch continuous history on the app that way), and the app is really intelligent and all of their settings make a lot of sense – such as allowing it to move but having it default back to a certain area. I get less false alerts with these than other cameras, but it reliably tracks anything that goes past it. It also uses audio to pick up on things outside of frame and lock onto them, which is a really unique feature. I used to use another major household brand but switched all my cams to Wyze after finding that my 1st camera was far more useful than the 5 cameras I had from the other brand were.I had another MAJOR brand fail to capture video of someone literally breaking into my house at 3 different camera points due to lag, and my Wyze camera was upstairs (which they never made it to thankfully, my dogs spooked them) and it was the only camera that triggered, because it saw the light flash from the front door down the stairs as they exited. They walked right in front of 2 cams from the other brand in my backyard and a doorbell cam, and the lag and motion detection was so bad that the 2 rear didn’t get them and the 1 front recorded AFTER they passed it. And I was paying for their premium plan too. I ditched them soon after and got this and several other Wyze products.Mounting is easy and these things never disconnect from the internet either, and notify if they do for an extended period of time, and will still record with the micro SD. The image quality in daytime is excellent, and their night time quality is second to none. Doesn’t just capture IR, but gets colors at night too – which is rare for security cameras. I also think they’re nice because they’re more intimidating than normal security cameras. They light up when they aim at you & their motion tracking is unnervingly accurate and hard to escape. I have them mounted in positions that would be impossible to avoid, and high enough that it would take a serious amount of effort and a ladder to remove them. They are not wireless, but let’s be honest it sucks having to replace the batteries every 2 months on those cameras anyways – these come with flat cables that slip right under windowsill cracks and garage door gaps and other places.Idk how they’re priced so low considering they don’t demand a monthly payment to provide good functionality & offer superior functionality to every other similar product on the market, but hey I am not complaining because them being priced reasonably gives me an excuse to keep getting more of them. My old cams were maybe $5 less than this each and required a $40 module to even work properly and a $15/mo subscription, and they provided probably 1/5 the value of this camera. Make the switch, you won’t regret it.And no, I don’t work for them or anything, I just really like these cameras!”

The tilt on this one is nice but I honestly keep it stationary most of the time so prefer the higher-quality stationary ones, but my use case is also on-demand monitoring and the space is small enough that the camera doesn’t need to move. So if you’ve got other needs – security or a large space, this is likely a great choice. Just know that 1080 quality does start to look a little underwhelming over distance.Gonna copy/paste what I said about the other camera:The two-way communication is actually pretty awesome – for as small as it is the camera’s mic pics up decent audio. I did find that if you’re on the monitoring end and want to speak through the camera you should do so slowly and deliberately as it takes a half-second for the speaker on the camera to kick on and broadcast; it cuts you off a little so just make sure you enunciate. Night mode is neat but I never use it.I use this for on-demand monitoring rather than 24/7 security so I had to look up how to disable certain things (motion tracking boxes, automatic light/alarm, etc.) but all were, blessedly, able to be disabled. Other reviews said those settings sometimes mysteriously come back on but I haven’t experienced it, but had this operational for only about 20 days now.Having had this installed for over two week I’ve had none of the problems others spoke about. App is surprisingly functional and stable. I wish there were a “refresh” button in it as I had to close it out and re-open a couple of times to catch up to a live feed, but other than that no big deal.I will say they REALLY like to push notifications, access to your device, and upsell their cloud service. You can always hit no, but the popups are recurrent – I’ve had several in the ~20 days of use so far, so likely every few days you’ll be asked if you’re *REALLY* sure you don’t want to buy online storage.Cameras haven’t disconnected at all. Again, had to restart the app a few times but they were never unavailable to me. Unless I got lucky with these units I’m guessing they ironed out the problems people were having and/or the issues folks experience are because the cameras are on the periphery of WiFi – these do take a lot of data and so a strong, consistent signal is necessary.If you’re monitoring these remotely on cell signal, know you’ll need a good 5G signal to get an uninterrupted live feed. If you’re low on bars or busted down to LTE you’ll get some chop, maybe serious chop, depending on how hairy your connection is. These are essentially like streaming Netflix so again strong, consistent data is key if you want a truly live monitor.All in all, for the price, I’m honestly blown away. They have to be making near-zero on the hardware and using cloud subscriptions to subsidize selling the units, which would explain the constant badgering to sign up. But in the end that just means I get a really serviceable entry-level camera for the cost of a nice lunch.”
