Smoothies blend thoroughly in just a few seconds. This Vitamix lets me make my own nut milks and turn pumpkin seeds or lentils into tofu. It’s opened a whole new world of cooking. This blender is so top notch that if you don’t want something blended into the consistency of a shake, like pesto for example, then you need to set it to low speed and don’t walk away to load the dishwasher or something. Just wait a moment and you’re done.Clean up is no problem with this Vitamix. They’re built with a smooth general surface and don’t have annoying gaps that fill with liquids.Just a heads up on use – I start mine on the lowest speed then turn up the power to blend. It only takes a second and avoids the jolt of 0-100 instantly. In any case, I haven’t experienced any sort of leakage with this awesome Vitamix and everything fits perfectly.Three years in and I’m still so happy with my Vitamix blender. Never had any problems with it. There is a reason that Vitamix has a loyal fan base.Yes, they’re more expensive upfront but it’s saved me a small fortune too. Customer Reviews
Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. TLDR: this blender is comparable to a Vitamix E310 in terms of blend quality, and is in some ways easier to use. Read below for my smoothie journey and how I settled on this being my preferred blender.I’ve used a couple of different blenders over the last couple years, including a Vitamix E310, a magic bullet and a nutribullet. The Vitamix was great, but just too big for my needs. I normally make single serve smoothies/bowls for just myself, and don’t require a super large container to make multiple smoothies. The magic bullet was undoubtedly the worst blender, with only a 250 watt motor It really struggles to make anything using frozen fruit or ice. The nutribullet was better, but it required some babysitting as you had to shake the container to distribute the fruit when it gets stuck at the top.So now I’m here, I haven’t tried ninja blenders before and I did quite a bit of research before settling on this one specifically. Ninja does have more expensive blenders that come with a larger container as an added bonus, however during my research I have found that the larger containers for this brand seem to perform worse than the smaller single use containers. The reason comes down to the blades, the larger one uses 3 separate blades that “chop” everything up, where as the smaller containers use a more traditional blender blade system that blends things nicely. I was also intrigued by the bowl attachment, as it is similar to how Vitamix uses the tamp to distribute items more evenly. So I bought it, and it works fantastic. I’ve attached a short video where you can see a bowl I created with the bowl attachment, and 2 smoothies blending. The video really shows how well the blender is able to mix frozen items without supervision. It just does it, no babysitting required. The smoothie bowl attachment does require you to twist it, but only for 30 seconds (which I think is doable considering how great the consistency is)Also somewhat surprisingly, it blends leafy greens like kale or spinach perfectly without leaving clumps. Only the Vitamix was ever able to do this for me, so I’m happy to have found a blender that is able to do this in single serve fashion. For this to work well you need to use the extract button. At the time of writing this review it’s $69, and I’m pretty sure this is the best blender you can get for that price. Even at its normal selling price I’d still buy it considering how well it works. The only potential downsides to this blender include:1) it’s pretty light, and it can just hop around the counter if the suction feet aren’t attached properly. Try to get the feet a little wet and clean the counter before setting it down to avoid this.2) it’s a ninja, I don’t think this brand is exactly known for product longevity but I guess I’ll have to see how it holds up. Build quality is overall good but not up to Vitamix standards of course.3) It’s loud, like I’m pretty sure you will wake up everyone within a 500 ft radius if you are blending at 6 am. Don’t be that person. That’s about it for this long review, I’m not sure why I spent the time writing this out but I think it’s good for a product like this to get the recognition It deserves. 5 stars, just buy it.
Customer Review: I bought this blender because I wanted to make meal replacement shakes/smoothies as a quick lunch, since I work from home. I searched and searched for something affordable, but also powerful. I could not afford those $300+ blenders, so I went to Ninja. I have heard great things about their products, and the majority of the reviews are positive. So I buy the blender, it arrives, I can’t wait to use it. I read about the reviews that said it is “SO LOUD” and like yeah, it is loud, but it honestly wasn’t that bad. My husband slept through it, and I used it in the kitchen, 25 feet from our closed bedroom door. I wouldn’t use it around a newborn baby, but my cats were okay with it. I just threw a couple dish towels over it to dampen the noise. But listen, for power of this kind, it’s a worthy trade off. When I tell you this bad boy blended everything I threw at it, I am not kidding in the slightest. Chia seeds? Dust. Frozen fruit? Obliterated. Ice cubes? Chunks be gone. It has made the most delightfully creamy and, well, smooth smoothies I have ever had in my life. It has preset options for what you’re blending, but also has a pulse option. I used it for smoothies, but this would make amazing margaritas, daiquiris, dips, spreads, dressings, you name it. I love that it comes with multiple cups and lids, and it is very easy to clean. The base is small, so I can leave it on my counter or on a shelf without taking up much room. If you need a new blender, and want one that will crush anything, get this one. Your standard pitcher blender will be put to shame. It simply cannot do what this Ninja can. I have been missing out all this time with lumpy, bumpy, and chunky beverages from my old blender. No longer will I be plagued by having to chew my drink! I highly recommend getting this blender if you need a new one, or are in the market for some quality smoothies and drinks. It is absolutely worth it!

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, it almost kept me from purchasing this blender but I love my KitchenAid stand mixer so I decided to get this to match. It’s by far the best blender I’ve ever used—it’s heavy and feels durable. I’ve been making smoothies, salsas, and açaí bowls almost every day since it arrived. The presets for crushing ice and blending drinks are awesome and work great! It also has specially designed blades that pull the contents down so everything is always evenly blended. The only con I have is that it’s very loud but it is a POWERFUL blender so I don’t mind. I also think for the price it should come with a glass pitcher vs plastic. The gear that turns the blade is plastic and I worry about longevity but time will tell. Overall very pleased with this blender!
Customer Review: I am so pleased that I purchased this blender! After much research on blenders, I decided that Kitchen Aid and, of course, Amazon had the best price It is an expensive blender, but if you are looking for the perfect blender without spending even more. Makes perfect margaritas in such a short time. Blended perfectly just like the Mexicans restaurants! Don’t buy just a margarita machine that is so big and only does frozen drinks. This blender can be used for so many other jobs in no time.. It is really heavy so it does not move around. The footprint is small. Looks nice on the counter! Money well spent!

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Hamilton Beach has developed an excellent/simply designed blender. It provides power and quiet one would expect in a 2019 product. I envision the engineering team behind this machine saying, “yeah, we can do this… quiet(er), powerful, mid-range pricing… no problem!” I love the “power ramp-up” feature of the smoothie dial-in pre-set. It goes from “0 to 60” (low-speed to high-smoothie speed) in a non-bragging style — “a perfect smoothie in one-minute…”, says my HB Pro 1500W QS Blender. While this little robot is making my smoothie [~280g frozen fruit; one whole banana; GOL protein powder; a splash of Omega 3, 6; ~200ml fruit juice; ~650ml soy milk] I’m filling my water bottle and having a conversation with my wife. The speed ramps down and then shuts down . Smoothie made in one minute! I love this robust robot! The thick BPA free jar has a no handle design. I like really like that! You can grab-it like you mean it. Fits perfectly in hand. Feels solid and balanced. Looks like it was designed to reduce micro-wobble and lost energy from blender speed noise. Energy is directed to the spin of the blade and the spin and mix of the food in a nice 32 oz/1L final product. HB describes this as a “Quiet Shield” and not a “silent” blender. Compared to my last two ultra loud blenders — a Bella and a less expensive HB — the shield, which seats snugly over less rigid energy absorbing plastic, significantly dampens any noise.I absolutely love this blender, and now that I’ve regained my hearing (with the Belle, my wife and I either put on ear protection or pressed fingers to our ears), I can enjoy my loud music loud and quiet music quieter, cruisin’ down the road in the morning with no ringing ears, enjoying that perfect smoothie!
Customer Review: I needed a blender, and I was concerned about how loud my previous Ninja blender was. I didn’t want to be too loud in my apartment and was worried about annoying my neighbors. But I didn’t want to sacrifice on the performance. I read lots of reviews and metrics about some of the better-known high-end blenders, and even considered making my own acrylic sound shield for a Vitamix. Eventually I decided I was being kind of crazy and that I didn’t need a $500 blender. Because of the great review, and very quiet noise tests, on the Rtings site, I decided to go with this one. It works great, has enough capacity for what I need, and is significantly quieter than I expected it to be. Don’t get me wrong, all blenders are pretty loud and this is no exception. But I was very surprised how effective the noise cover was. This is a great option if you need a medium-sized blender and you’re concerned about noise level. If that’s you, definitely give this one some consideration.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: There is an old saying, “I Hate You Sometimes, But I Love You Always” One has to be married a few years to fully understand that statement. My wife makes smoothies for her breakfast on a daily basis. I previously purchased this same exact blender for her back in 2020. For some unknown reason, she feels this need to assist the blender, by attempting to stir the contents a little while the blender is running. As is not uncommon, she ignored my cautions. In doing so, she accidentally dropped a stainless steel spoon in the blender while it was running. After the explosive sound of incoming shrapnel subsided, we were left with a spoon and a blender that were totally destroyed. She liked this now deceased blender, better than any that she had used. Thus I set out to order her a replacement. Unfortunately, this model had been discontinued. I ordered it 3 times from Amazon and others, only to have them cancel the order because it was no longer unavailable. Fast forward a year later to November 2025, somehow, Amazon had them again. I immediately ordered one. My wife almost did a happy dance when it showed up.This blender just does a fabulous job. The blade configuration is exceptional. It also auto reverses will running. This back-and-forth feature, pulls the contents down in to the blades for better mixing. It also makes it unnecessary to stir it with a spoon while running. (smiling) The jar portion is heavy glass, making it more durable and easier to clean. It has a powerful motor and numerous settings for various applications. This machine is a winner. It does not disappoint. Also, being an Oster brand, one can easily find parts for it.
Customer Review: Excellent blender, just a bit noisy, but that can be remedied by keeping it on a soft pad.
Complete Buying Guide for Best Smoothie Blenders
Choosing the best smoothie blender can feel overwhelming with so many options available. To help you make an informed decision, here are the essential factors we considered when reviewing our top picks, along with some tips for finding the perfect blender for your needs.
Essential Factors We Consider
When you’re looking for a blender primarily for smoothies, certain features become more critical. First, motor power is paramount. A high wattage (1000W and above) ensures your blender can easily pulverize ice, frozen fruits, and tough fibrous greens like kale or spinach without struggling. You want smooth, not chunky! Next, consider the blade design. Look for strong, sharp stainless steel blades that are specifically designed for efficient crushing and blending. Some blenders, like the Oster Pro 1200, even offer dual-direction blades for a more thorough mix. The jar material and capacity also play a big role. Glass jars are durable and don’t absorb odors, but they can be heavy. Plastic (BPA-free) is lighter and often more shatter-resistant. Think about how many servings you typically make to choose the right capacity. For example, a 64-ounce container is great for families, while a personal-sized cup works well for single servings. Finally, ease of cleaning is a must. Dishwasher-safe parts and self-cleaning functions can save you a lot of time and hassle, similar to how an efficient top load washer simplifies laundry day.
Budget Planning
Blenders come in a wide range of prices, from under $100 to over $500. While it might be tempting to go for the cheapest option, remember that for truly smooth smoothies, investing a bit more in a powerful motor and durable construction often pays off in the long run. High-end blenders like the Vitamix 5200 offer professional-grade performance and longevity, often with extended warranties. Mid-range options like the KitchenAid K400 or Hamilton Beach Professional offer excellent value, balancing performance with cost. Personal blenders like the Ninja SS101 are generally more affordable but still deliver great results for smaller portions. Consider your frequency of use and the types of ingredients you blend. If you plan to make daily smoothies with tough ingredients, a higher investment might be wise. If you’re an occasional user, a budget-friendly yet capable model will suffice. Remember, quality kitchen tools are an investment in your health and convenience, just like a reliable countertop ice maker or high-quality juicer.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, the best smoothie blender for you depends on your specific needs, budget, and how often you plan to use it. Pay attention to motor power, blade design, jar material, and features like variable speed control or quiet operation. Don’t forget to consider how easy it is to clean. By prioritizing these factors, you can find a blender that will consistently deliver perfectly smooth, delicious smoothies for years to come.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What wattage is ideal for a smoothie blender?
A: For consistently smooth results, especially with frozen fruits, ice, and fibrous greens, aim for a blender with at least 1000 watts. Blenders with 1200 watts or more will make quick work of even the toughest ingredients.
Q: Is a glass or plastic blending jar better for smoothies?
A: Both have pros and cons. Glass jars are generally more durable, scratch-resistant, don’t absorb odors, and are often dishwasher-safe. However, they are heavier and more prone to shattering if dropped. Plastic jars (ensure they are BPA-free) are lighter, more shatter-resistant, and typically more affordable, but can sometimes absorb odors or become cloudy over time. The choice often comes down to personal preference for weight and durability.
Q: Can I put hot liquids in my smoothie blender?
A: Most modern blenders can handle warm liquids, but always check your blender’s manual for specific instructions and temperature limits. Some high-end blenders, like the Vitamix 5200, are specifically designed to make hot soups from cold ingredients, but for most standard blenders, it’s safer to let very hot liquids cool slightly before blending to prevent pressure buildup and potential damage.
Q: How do I clean my smoothie blender effectively?
A: Many blenders offer a self-cleaning feature where you add warm water and a drop of dish soap, then run the blender on high for about 30-60 seconds. For a thorough clean, disassemble the jar, blades, and lid, and wash them with warm, soapy water. Always refer to your blender’s manual for specific cleaning instructions, especially regarding dishwasher-safe parts.
